About

My name is Birgit Sacher.

I am certified as an ACE Personal Trainer, VDOT Run Coach,

Stages Indoor Cycling Instructor, and TRX Instructor.

I have specialty training in balance and movement for older adults, as well as performance athletic training and injury prevention.

I am also a mom, adoring wife, skier, ballroom dancer, and runner.

 

I was a high school gymnast and collegiate racquetball player, who has always loved a physical challenge.  My love for teaching physical skills began at 18 as a SCUBA instructor, climbing instructor, and later a teacher for ropes course facilitators.  After university, I obtained my MA in education and pursued a more traditional career teaching and curriculum writing in the non-profit world.  But personal health and fitness never took a back position, and as my passion grew in helping others achieve goals, personal training became the most rewarding fit for my talents and passion.

 

My personal athletic achievements since include many age group and overall wins in foot races and triathlon, completion of Ironman, and 10 marathons, including 2 in Boston.  In 2017 I completed my first 50K trail race, taking second in my age group. I have been a run streaker, running at least one mile every day, since December of 2013.  As a result, I am deeply committed to helping others get and stay healthy, and injury free, in order to do all of the things they want to do.  For you that might be keeping up with the kids, feeling confident and energetic, traveling without compromise in your retirement, losing weight, or participating in recreational or competitive sports.  

Whatever it is, I want you to be your best.

PERSONAL TRAINING

I am now working with all of my personal training clients  at Montecito Heights Athletic Club. I work with each client to best support individual goals, maintain accountability, and maximize productivity. No cookie cutter workouts.  Come on over to MHHC and check us out.

GROUP TRAINING

Full trainer attention and lots of camaraderie in small groups of no more than 8 people.  We work in all different modalities and with a variety of equipment to make each session engaging, unique, fun, and challenging for all levels!

In addition, I teach an afternoon group class at MHHC.

INDIVIDUAL RUN COACHING

Experience and science-based VDOT certification help determine and expand your full potential to help you reach your goals with specified and individual training plans.  Every runner is unique and every runner can reach high!

Currently accepting new local and remote clients.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Personal training clients are welcome to complimentary consultation beyond our gym sessions in order to best support individual goals, maintain accountability, and maximize productivity.

STAY TUNED FOR A BIG LAUNCH IN SUMMER 2024

I'm beyond excited to be in the middle of my Certification as a Thermalist Instructor.

For many years my husband and I have been avid users of cold immersion therapy. I'm not sure when it started, but I know that back in 2016 when we ran the Marine Corp Marathon we HAD to find a cryotherapy salon to accompany our efforts.

But cold therapy isn't just for athletes, there's A LOT more to it, and it needs to be more accessible.

Cold therapy also doesn't just have to happen in an expensive & environmentally unfriendly cryochamber.

Cold AND heat, in partnership with the proper breathing techniques, and even in concert with nature, provide more than just muscle relief after a marathon.

The benefits of Contrast Therapy offer us the opportunity to lower stress, increase resilience, and prevent lifestyle diseases that are ever more prevalent in our world today.

Through my training I will be able to provide the knowledge of biochemistry and physiology to bring this new fitness form to you.  With science, I will guide you through an exciting process, one where you experience something that seems like magic in the way it elevates your mood and motivation, helps you destress and feel connection as you navigate and steer your mind and body into greater sync.

I'm honored and excited to have the opportunity to work with the wonderful folks

at Focus Forward Fitness, right here in Santa Rosa.

While my Friday Bootcamp is still in it's outdoor private location,

I am teaching Monday and Wednesdays, 9am, at Focus Forward. 

We are located at 4283 Montgomery Drive.

Focus Forward is an independently owned local business.
